Double shooting in Burke Co. injures father, son

BURKE COUNTY, N.C. — Sheriff’s deputies were on the scene of a double shooting west of Morganton in Burke County where a father and son remain hospitalized on Sunday.

WSOC reported there are signs of forced entry into the home where the shooting occurred.

The wife and mother of the men who were shot was there when she said someone kicked in the door.

The woman said she was asleep when she heard her son warn her of an intruder.

She said someone shot her son, 35-year-old Jonathan Presnell, twice in the stomach and the arm.

Deputies said her husband, 70-year-old Johnnie Leroy Presnell, is suffering from life-threatening injures.

Other detectives along, with the SBI are collecting evidence at the scene.

    Sounds like the son had some serious enemies,dad just got in the way!! Why is a 35 year old man living with mom and dad,bringing trouble to their home !! Just asking !!
