Greensboro police investigate attempted robbery

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Greensboro police said they’re investigating after several people tried to rob a man early Sunday morning.

Police said the suspects approached the 23-year-old victim around 12:25 a.m. as he was walking on the sidewalk near East Lee and Lincoln streets.

Police said one suspect pointed a handgun at the victim and demanded his property. The suspect then struck the victim with his handgun and the victim ran off, police said.

The suspects fired at least one shot at the victim as he was running away, but missed, officials said.

Police said the suspects fled west on East Lee Street in an unknown type of vehicle.
