Gastonia teen killed in shooting, car crash

GASTONIA, N.C. — Gastonia police said a 17-year-old high school student was killed after he was shot and then slammed his car into an SUV.

The Gaston Gazette reported that Brandon McCall was shot around 6:15 p.m. Saturday as he was involved in a drug transition near Garrison Boulevard.

Somebody fired a bullet at him and he fled the scene in a 2000 Honda Civic that then slammed into an SUV.

Police said McCall was found dead inside the car and had been shot. Police said they are still determining whether he was inside or outside the car when he was shot.

Gastonia Police said they believe they have identified a suspect, but have not made any arrests.
