Prospect Brands acquires Duck Head Apparel in Greensboro

Prospect Brands has acquired and will relaunch the once popular Duck Head Apparel from downtown Greensboro.

GREENSBORO — Prospect Brands, LLC said Wednesday it has acquired Duck Head Apparel for an undisclosed price.

Prospects said it plans to offer a full lifestyle assortment of Duck Head apparel to include: khakis, knitwear, denim, woven items, sweaters, outerwear, t-shirts, head wear and accessories.

Prospect is a partnership between McCarthy Capital Fund V, a private-equity firm based in Omaha, Neb., and Tom Nolan , president and chief executive of high-tech clothing manufacturer Gerbing of Greensboro. Gerbing has a manufacturing plant in Stoneville.

Gerbing specialized in “wearable technology,” creating heated clothing that is used by motorcyclists and the military.
