KFC on Bessemer Avenue in Greensboro robbed

GREENSBORO, N.C. — A Kentucky Fried Chicken on East Bessemer Avenue was robbed on Thursday afternoon, according to police.

Officers responded to the KFC at 1600 E. Bessemer Ave. shortly after 1:30 p.m. in reference to a robbery.

Staff say a suspect walked to the counter and displayed what appeared to be a handgun tucked into his waistband.

The suspect demanded money and was given an undisclosed amount. He then left on foot.

The suspect has been described as a black male in his mid-30s to mid-40s, 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches, with a medium build. At the time of the incident he was wearing a blue sweater and blue jeans.

No injuries were reported.

An investigation is ongoing.
