Billy Graham celebrates 95th birthday tomorrow in Asheville
ASHEVILLE, N.C. — Billy Graham will celebrate his 95th birthday Thursday with more than 800 guest, including celebrities and dignitaries, invited to the Grove Park Inn.
Thursday will also mark Graham’s latest broadcast program, My Hope America, which he recorded recently at his Montreat home. The program is slated to air on networks across the country over the coming days and is already online at BillyGraham.org.
“He still has the passion,” said Dr. Michael Blackwell, president of the Baptist Children’s Homes and a friend of Graham since 1967. “Somebody comes along sometimes and meets history and that’s what Billy Graham did. And we were ready for that kind of mass evangelism.”
Despite his age Graham also released a new book, “The Reason for My Hope: Salvation,” in October.
His son, Franklin Graham, says his father is now telling people that he thinks he will live to be 100.
