MADISON, N.C. -- People with cancer in Rockingham County now have a new place to turn.

The Barry Joyce Cancer Resource Center officially opened in Madison will be able to care for thousands of patients and their families.

Jennifer Joyce is the executive director and the building is named after her father who dies from cancer in 2001.

She said before he died, he had a vision to help others with cancer beat the disease.

“We actually took his vision to a different level and are actually helping more people in more ways than he even thought,” she said.

The Barry Joyce Cancer Resource Center is an addition to a cancer fund that was established in 2001 after he died.
