ELLERBE, N.C. — Late wrestling legend Andre the Giant’s former North Carolina home is planned to be auctioned off on Saturday.
The auction takes place at 10 a.m. at the wrestler’s former estate at 796 Hwy 73 East in Ellerbe, about 90 miles southwest of Raleigh. Registration opens at 9.
The 3,500 square-foot three-story house includes four bedrooms, three bathrooms, two dens, a rock fireplace, jacuzzi, gazebo, a two-car garage and more.
Weighing 500 pounds, Andre the Giant was a French-born professional wrestler and actor and was one of the most popular wrestlers in WWF history. He died in 1993.
His wrestling friends spread his ashes at the North Carolina property after his death, where Hulk Hogan gave a tearful eulogy, according to the News and Observer.
