Texas man arrested, $64K in meth seized in Greenville

GREENVILLE, N.C. – Two pounds of crystal meth is off the streets and a Texas man is behind bars after officers spotted a suspicious individual.

According to WNCT, police responded to a parking lot at the  intersection of West 5th Street and North Memorial Drive in Greenville last week.

Officers searched the man, identified as Miguel Gallardo of Mission, Texas, and turned up about two pounds of crystal methamphetamine.

The estimated street value is $64,000.

Detectives say the drugs were destined for another state.

Gallardo was arrested and charged with trafficking in methamphetamine.

He’s in the Pitt County Detention Center under $1,000,000 secured bond.
