GUILFORD COUNTY, N.C. -- On Monday, Nov. 4, Guilford County Schools will hold a Walk-In Day to support teachers and school based staff.
Over the past few years, teachers have been displeased with legislative changes, cuts in the classroom and salaries that are among the lowest in the country.
Currently, North Carolina teacher pay ranks 46th in the United States, down five spots from the year before.
The idea of a walk-in, as opposed to the teachers themselves walking out, is to have community members come to the schools. Teachers hope the walk-in will bring notes and words of encouragement.
