GUILFORD COUNTY, N.C. — A Give a Kid a Coat challenge gave area students a chance to be involved in the annual campaign.

A Cleaner World offered the opportunity to area elementary and middle schools through a specially designed coat drive which encouraged parents and students to drop off coats at A Cleaner World stores.

The school challenges concluded on Saturday, Oct. 26, with Hasty Elementary in Thomasville capturing first place and Cornerstone Charter Academy in Greensboro firmly in second place in the elementary division.

Northern Guilford Middle in Greensboro finished first and Northwest Guilford Middle in Greensboro wrapped up second place in the middle school division.

Each school will receive a donation to their parent-teacher organization.

“Thirty-six elementary and ten middle schools donated 1,639 coats through this special coat drive, exceeding last year’s total by 193 coats.” said Chris Edwards, President of A Cleaner World. “We would like to thank all the schools that participated.

Hundreds of children and adults will have a coat this winter because of your donations.”

Give A Kid A Coat is sponsored by A Cleaner World dry cleaners, The Salvation Army, Fox8/WGHP, 1075KZL, and Kid Smiles.

The 2013 campaign concludes on Saturday, Nov. 16.
