NC man accused of stabbing mother after car argument

CARTERET COUNTY, N.C. — A North Carolina was arrested after authorities said he stabbed his mother after she confronted him about using the family vehicle.

WCTI-TV reported that Taylor Douglas Hill, 23, of Carteret County, allegedly stabbed his mother in the chest at their Newport home Saturday afternoon.

Deputies said the victim called 911 and the suspect was arrested at the scene.

The 51-year-old victim was listed in fair to serious condition at Carteret General Hospital later that day, officials said.

The suspect allegedly became angry after his mother confronted him about the unauthorized use of her vehicle.

He was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and resisting an officer.

The suspect was placed in the Carteret County Jail under a $150,000 bond and has court planned for Monday.
