Teenager sought in Halifax County murder

WELDON, N.C. – Halifax County deputies said they’re searching for a teenager accused of shooting and killing a man.

WTVD-TV reported that authorities responded to 1135 Elm Street in Weldon in reference to the incident around 3:30 a.m. Sunday.

Deputies said they found 20-year-old Sequon Starks, of Weldon, had been shot once in the torso with a handgun. The victim was pronounced dead after being taken to Halifax Regional Medical Center.

Deputies have taken out a warrant against 16-year-old Dashawn Hendricks, of Weldon.  Hendricks is considered armed and dangerous.
