Bus driver who ran red light not at fault, officials say
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — The driver of a Forsyth County school bus caught on video running a red light will not be charged.
The incident happened the morning of Sept. 23 at the intersection of Academy Street and Peters Creek Parkway in Winston-Salem.
Officials said a GPS tracker showed the bus was at the red light for more than seven minutes. The driver told authorities she decided to proceed when nobody was coming.
The Winston-Salem Department of Transportation said there was a problem with the light’s sensors.
Judging from the video, the driver appeared to be the only one on the bus.
