Greensboro police look for info in reported attempted kidnapping
GREENSBORO, N.C. — Greensboro police are trying to determine what happened at a school bus stop earlier Thursday, and are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a person who may have information about the incident.
At about 7:40 am, police responded the bus stop at High Point Road and Grimsley Street after someone called 911 to report a possible attempted kidnapping of a young girl.
Police have been investigating the case for several hours and are still trying to determine what occurred.
A witness described seeing a man with dark brown complexion, possibly in his 20s, with no facial hair or visible piercings or tattoos in the vicinity of the bus stop. He was wearing a white shirt.
He departed the area in a beige/tan Chevy Silverado extended cab pickup truck that was missing its center cap from the driver’s side front wheel. The vehicle may be a 2006 or 2007 model.
Police are unsure of the man’s connection to the incident – if any – but are interested in speaking with him in the hopes that he can provide information about what occurred.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Greensboro Police Department at (336) 373-2222.
