House catches fire in Greensboro

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Firefighters responded early Wednesday morning to a house fire in Greensboro.

The fire was reported around 3:45 a.m. at 1308 Fireside St. It was extinguished by 4:30 a.m.

Authorities tell FOX8’s Michael Spears that a man and his dog were inside the home when the fire broke out, but they both got out safely.

It was not clear what caused the fire or how much damage it caused.

Fireside Street was closed between Gentry Street and Halifax Road for about 1 1/2 hours as a result of the blaze.
