Greensboro fire safety event planned for Oct. 5

GREENSBORO, N.C. — The Greensboro Fire Department is hosting a fire safety event Saturday, Oct. 5 featuring activities including a bike rodeo and mini-combat challenge course.

The second annual Fire Prevention Week Extravaganza and Open House is planned for 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Greensboro Public Safety Training Facility at 1510 North Church St.

Attendants will be able to participate in various activities to promote fire safety including a fire hose challenge and fire relays.

Organizers said the event will be free and open to the public.
