GREENSBORO, N.C. — Anton’s Restaurant in Greensboro has closed after 53 years, according to the Greensboro News & Record.

Anton’s was a family Italian seafood and steak restaurant at 1628 Battleground Ave. owned by Tom and Tena Anton.

Owner Tom Anton told the paper that the restaurant had been struggling with the economy and competition.

“I really appreciate all of the support they gave me and my family over the years,” Anton said of the customers the business has had.
