CONOVER, N.C. -- More than 600 children under the age of 14 die each year from fires, but one North Carolina organization is working to reduce that number.

The 2nd Annual Burn Center Golf Tournament will raise money for the Piedmont Chapter Firefighters Burned Children's Fund. On Wednesday during the FOX8 Morning News, the tournament's organizer along with two burn survivors stopped by our studios to discuss the cause.

The tournament is set for Sept. 21 at Rock Barn Golf and Spa in Conover. Registration begins at 11 a.m. Players can register teams for $400 or individuals for $100.
