MAYODAN, N.C. — On Tuesday, Rockingham County commissioners will hold a public hearing on incentives for Sturm, Ruger & Co.

The gun manufacturer announced in August it would make Mayodan the home of its newest manufacturing facility — a $26 million investment that’s expected to create 450 jobs by the end of 2017.

The company could collect as much as $940,000 from the county over the next 14 years as incentives for the job creation.

The public hearing is set for 6:30 p.m. at the Rockingham County Governmental Center on Highway 65. Another hearing is set for next week in Mayodan.
