NC man crashes into patrol car, charged with DWI
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A man was charged with driving while impaired after authorities said he crashed into a North Carolina State Trooper’s patrol car.
WSOC-TV reported that Charles Edward Mumaw, 45, of Charlotte, allegedly caused the crash around 12:30 a.m. Saturday on West Boulevard near Holibird Lane.
Investigators said the trooper in the patrol car was not seriously hurt, but his car is expected to be a total loss.
It remains uncertain how impaired the suspect allegedly was or what he was impaired with.
The suspect was arrested and booked into the Mecklenburg County Jail, where he was later released and has court planned for Oct. 21.
