Watauga County Schools evacuated due to bomb threat

BOONE, N.C. — Authorities evacuated every school in Watauga County on Tuesday morning due to an unspecified bomb threat.

According to Boone police, someone called around 7:45 a.m. saying there was a bomb inside a school within the district.

As of 9:30 a.m., police said each school had been safely evacuated.

Shortly before 10:30 a.m., a message posted on the school district’s website said all school buildings had been inspected and cleared and classes had resumed.

School in Watauga County began last week.
