Man robbed at gunpoint outside Food Lion in Greensboro

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Police say a 72-year-old man was robbed at gunpoint Monday night outside a grocery store in Greensboro.

According to police, the victim was sitting in front of the Food Lion at 1316 Lees Chapel Road around 9 p.m. when a man dressed in all black approached him, displayed a handgun and demanded money. The suspect took an undetermined amount of cash and other belongings before running east through the wooded area behind the store.

The victim was not injured, police said.

An ample suspect description was not available.
