ABERDEEN, N.C. — Officials said a man was shot and killed outside a North Carolina Burger King after eating breakfast with his father.
WTVD-TV reported that 23-year-old Wesley Allan Swinnie was fatally shot just after 9 a.m. Saturday at the restaurant on U.S. 1 in Moore County.
Authorities said the victim was eating with his dad when he stepped outside to smoke a cigarette when two suspects approached him, shooting him multiple times. Police said he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Aberdeen police said they have two suspects in custody after a brief chase.
The family said they did not know if the victim knew the suspects. The victim was reportedly from the Hoffman area in Richmond County. A motive was not released.
