Showers, possible thunderstorms back in the forecast

Showers and a few thunderstorms are ahead for Wednesday.

TimelineThe chance of rain is 60 percent Wednesday afternoon and evening. Total rainfall through daybreak Thursday will be around 1/2" in the Triad and closer to 3/4" along the Blue Ridge. Any thunderstorms that develop are not forecast to be severe.

Temperatures will be quite steady Wednesday, starting in the lower 70s and topping out in the lower 80s by the afternoon. With a forecast high of 82 degrees, Wednesday will be the coolest day of the next five.

Scattered showers continue tomorrow, but drier weather takes over for Friday and Saturday.
