GREENSBORO, N.C. — The North Carolina Department of Transportation has assigned a $1 million contract for the resurfacing nearly two miles of Wendover Avenue in Greensboro.

Wendover Avenue will be resurfaced from the bridge over Battleground Avenue to the bridge over Market Street.

The contract also includes the resurfacing of the Wendover Avenue on and off-ramps at Westover Terrace, Benjamin Parkway, Green Valley Road, Green Valley Court and Lindell Street.

Work is expected to begin as early as July 29. It is slated to be complete by Nov. 1.

All resurfacing work will be done at night.

The contract was awarded to Larco Construction of Winston-Salem. The DOT gives contracts to the lowest bidders, as required by state law.

DOT officials say the project “is an important investment in the long-term viability of the state’s transportation network and will help improve the overall health of the local infrastructure.”
