REIDSVILLE, N.C. — An Eden man has been charged after he allegedly broke into the DOT office in Reidsville earlier this month and stole a DOT vehicle.

Scott Allen Horner, 38, of 922 Virginia Ave., allegedly broke into the DOT office at 1226 S. Scales St. on July 3, stole items from inside the office and drove away in a DOT vehicle.

Deputies said the stolen vehicle was later recovered in Delaware. The items stolen from the DOT office were recovered inside the vehicle.

Horner faces breaking and entering charges in addition to vehicle theft charges. He was placed in the Rockingham County Jail under a $30,000 secured bond.

He is scheduled to appear in court on July 31.
