WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Police say a pizza delivery driver was struck with a brick early Tuesday during a robbery in Winston-Salem.

According to police, a Domino’s Pizza worker was taking food to an apartment at 4260 Brownsboro Road around midnight when he encountered a group of about five suspects outside the building.

One of the suspects motioned as if he had a gun in his waistband, police said. The victim then turned away from the suspect, at which point he was hit with a brick.

The victim then dropped the food he was carrying. Police say the suspect who struck the victim grabbed the food and ran east through the complex, while the others ran behind the building.

Police described the victim’s injuries as minor. He refused treatment at the scene.

No ample suspect descriptions were available.
