Twins fall from second-story window in Mooresville
MOORESVILLE, N.C. — A set of twin toddlers fell out of a second-story window at their home but were not seriously injured, according to the Mooresville Tribune.
The paper reported that it happened Monday morning in Mooresville as the children were in their room.
The mother of the twins said she was with them and then left to take another child, age 4, to the bathroom.
She said when she returned to the room, the children had gone out the window and landed on some bushes.
The two twins – a boy and girl who will turn 2 in November – were reportedly airlifted to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.
Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Detective Sgt. Brian Fink said the incident appears to be an accident. He said the window had safety locks, but the lock appeared to be damaged.
Fink described the children as “giggling” and “playing” after visiting with them. He said he is glad they were not seriously injured.
The Iredell County Department of Social Services was notified and will be reportedly conduct an investigation.
