GREENSBORO, N.C. — U.S. Senator Kay Hagan announced Monday that Piedmont Triad International Airport in Greensboro is receiving a $4.3 million grant to reimburse a recently built runway.
The reimbursement is for the recent construction of runway 5L-23R and associated taxiways, the construction of connector taxiway “F,” the extension of taxiway “K,” and land acquisition.
The grant comes from the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration.
“This investment will provide a big boost to PTI and the entire Greensboro area,” Hagan said.
Hagen said the runway will be critical to supporting increased activity that will help grow the economy. She said North Carolina will benefit from this funding for years to come.
