Girl Scouts to sell Triad Service Center
COLFAX, N.C. — A Piedmont Girl Scouts organization has announced it plans to sell the Triad Service Center to find a new location in the area.
Girl Scouts Carolinas Peaks to Piedmont announced it plans to sell the 94-acre property, which includes two separate parcels in Colfax, Magnolia Manor and the Girl Scout Learning Center.
Officials with the group said they are selling the property to find a more convenient location with better office space to meet membership needs.
“This building is a beautiful building. It’s very big and we don’t use it the way we used to,” said Marcia Cole, CEO of Girl Scouts Carolina Peaks to Piedmont. “For our headquarters to be located here, it’s far in the eastern part of the footprint we have, so we’re going to sell this building and this whole complex, because there are actually two buildings here. Then we’re going to determine where we can relocate to better serve our customers.”
The group said its staff will continue its operations at the location until the property is sold.
Girl Scouts Carolinas Peaks to Piedmont covers a 40-county area in central and western North Carolina.
