Greensboro man charged in death of missing woman

Donald Thomas Johnson, Jr., 45, has been charged in the death of 38-year-old Angelique Lynn Sylvester.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — A Greensboro man has been charged with murder in the death of a missing woman.

Police said the remains of 38-year-old Angelique Lynn Sylvester were found at a home on Garden Lake Drive on Friday night.

The victim’s boyfriend, 45-year-old Donald Thomas Johnson, Jr., was arrested at the home they shared at 1827 Pleasant Ridge Road around 4:30 a.m. Saturday, police said.

The suspect was charged with first degree murder in the death of the victim.

Police said Sylvester had been reported missing on July 8, after her family had not heard from her since July 2.

Greensboro police said they are continuing to investigate. They said a motive for the death is unclear. Anyone with any information can call Crime Stoppers at (336) 373-1000.
