WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — The 36th annual Western Film Festival will take place at The Hawthorne Inn and Conference Center in Winston-Salem this weekend.

The event brings together memorabilia collectors and stars from TV and movies, like Belinda Montgomery, who played Doogie Howser’s mom and starred in a few Western movies.

The convention is meant to showcase nostalgia from classic Western TV shows and movies. Several classic Westerns will also be screened throughout the weekend.

Organizers expect more than 500 people over the course of the festival, which runs through tomorrow night and is open to the public.
