GREENSBORO, N.C. — Several water rescues were reported throughout Greensboro Wednesday evening as strong storms moved through the area.

Heavy rain created major problems on Wendover Avenue, where crews had to rescue cars stalled in high water. At one point, a driver said the water was up to his trunk.

Greensboro Police closed several intersections to ensure other drivers would not get stranded.

A Flash Flood Warning was in effect in Guilford County until 1:15 a.m.
