There is a 30 percent chance of showers and isolated thunderstorms in the Piedmont and a 60 percent chance in the mountains. These rain chances remain steady over the weekend.
A Flash Flood Watch remains in effect for Surry, Wilkes, Alleghany and Watauga counties until 8 pm tonight.
Highs will be around 86 degrees today and Saturday, and near 88 degrees on Sunday.
