Though we’ll have a continuing chance of showers and thunderstorms this weekend, it’s still going to be packed with things to do!
The Freedom Run 10K kicks off Greensboro’s Fun Fourth celebration! It’s a 6.2 mile course through rolling hills of some of the prettiest parts of downtown and old Irving Park. The humidity will be high, but rain chances look rather low for the 8 am start. Good luck to all the runners and walkers!
Safe Haven Equine Rescue and Ruff Love Dog Rescue is having an Ice Cream Social from 11 am to 3 pm on Saturday, and you’re invited! Safe Haven Farm, located at 245 Cedar Ridge Lane in High Point is the gathering spot. You can bring your dog (on a leash) to enjoy the day — and some doggie ice cream! — plus there will be free music and games! Both rescues will have animals (horses and dogs!) there for affection and fun, so this is a superb event for the whole family. Visit http://www.sherr.com or http://www.ruffloverescue.com for more information. The rain date is Sunday, June 30th.
