Summer began officially at 1:04 am ET, but it won’t be feeling summery at all on Friday.

The relative humidity will be quite low for this time of year, so enjoy a refreshing, crisp air mass for another day!

Partly-cloudy skies are ahead for Friday with highs in the lower 80s.  With that lower humidity, it will feel great to be outdoors! Make sure you have your sunscreen on because the UV index will be 10 out of 10.

Relay for Life is Friday night in Winston-Salem at BB&T Stadium, from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.  It will be a perfect evening to go out and enjoy some time outdoors!  9 p.m. temperatures will be in the lower 70s.  Overnight, lows will be in the lower 60’s and the crisp, dry air will continue to dominate the Piedmont.

Over the weekend, that summery relative humidity returns.  We’ll have partly-cloudy skies on Saturday and Sunday, but rain chances remain below low until late on Sunday when we have a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms.

Total rainfall could be up to 1/4″ from the Triad, south.  Temperatures will be steady — 83 degrees on Saturday and 85 degrees on Sunday.
