Pedestrian injured after hit by car in Burlington

BURLINGTON, N.C. — Police said a man walking on the side of the road was struck by a car and injured Friday night in Burlington.

Authorities said the 29-year-old was walking in the 200 block of Huffman Mill Road when a 1998 Toyota Camry hit him around 11 p.m.

Police said the victim was walking on the edge of the roadway. They said both the victim and the driver were headed north.

Police said the victim was taken to Alamance Regional Medical Center by emergency responders with non-life threatening injuries.

Officials said the 18-year-old female driver of the Camry was not injured, but her car sustained around $1,200 in damage.

Burlington police said they do not expect to file charges against either the driver or pedestrian.
