Furniture Brands International hires new Thomasville president

THOMASVILLE, N.C. — Furniture Brands International Inc. said Friday it has hired Kathy Veltri as president of its Thomasville Furniture Industries Inc. division.

The Winston-Salem Journal reported that Veltri most recently served as senior vice president of sales and marketing with Arhaua Furniture.

She has more than 20 years of retail experience with Cole National, Sight Resource Inc. and J.B. Robinson Jewelers.

She replaces Ed Teplitz, who is departing from the company June 14. Teplitz has been listed among the top-five executives with Furniture Brands, having made $395,400 in salary and $561,789 in total compensation in 2012, according to a company regulatory filing.

Veltri becomes the fourth president of Thomasville since 2005.

“Her strong furniture retailing experience, keen knowledge of store operations, as well as her brand marketing acumen. will be an asset to the Thomasville team and help us achieve the growth plans we have for the brand,” said Ralph Scozzafava, Furniture Brands’ chairman and chief executive.
