BURLINGTON, NC — Mass Mutual Insurance Group is giving away life insurance policies Saturday in Burlington.
According to Ron Harber, a relationship coordinator with the Raleigh-Durham office, some in the Piedmont are eligible for a $50,000 policy without paying a dime.
Mass Mutual’s release states: “Under the LifeBridge program, if the parent or guardian passes away during the 10 years of coverage, $50,000 will be paid to a trust administered by the MassMutual Trust Co., FSB, to cover the educational expenses of their eligible children. MassMutual pays the premiums for you.”
Harber said the goal was to help kids who depend on a parent or guardian even if that guardian passes away.
To qualify, you must be between the ages of 19 and 42. You must be the parent or legal guardian of a child under the age of 18. You must be a permanent, legal resident of the United States. You must be currently employed (full or part-time) and making between $10,000 and $40,000 annually.
MassMutual will determine if you are healthy enough to qualify for a policy.
The event will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Goodwill retail store at 3740 S. Church Street in Burlington.
