Greensboro police identify fatal hit-and-run victim

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Greensboro police said they have identified the victim in a fatal hit-and-run reported early Sunday morning near Willow and Alamance Church roads.

Police said the body of 44-year-old Lamont Maurice Warren was found lying in the roadway around 5 a.m. in the 2300 Block of Willow Road.

Police said he was pronounced dead at the scene by Guilford County paramedics. They said the victim was struck by an unknown vehicle near the bus stop.

Travel areas near the scene of the incident were closed Sunday morning but have since reopened.

Police said they do not have any witnesses or a vehicle description yet. Anyone with any information can call CrimeStoppers at 373-1000.

Another hit-and-run happened in the same neighborhood about a month ago involving the death of a man on a moped about five miles away.
