Asheboro schools take part in statewide reading campaign

ASHEBORO, N.C.– Asheboro City Schools are taking part in the statewide ‘Give Five, Read Five’ campaign.

The school system is encouraging people to drop-off five books, so elementary school children can have something to read during the summer.

Studies show that kids lose their reading skills during the summer–the campaign hopes that if the children have books to read during the summer, they will be ready for the school year.
