Armed robbery, assault reported in Greensboro

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Police are investigating an assault and armed robbery that was reported late Sunday night in Greensboro.

According to police, officers met with the female victim just before 11 p.m. at an apartment at 3634 Hewitt St.

The woman told police she was approached by a man who pulled out a knife and demanded money and her belongings.  The woman said she was then assaulted by the suspect before he took her belongings and ran away from the scene.

The suspect was last seen headed east on Hewitt Street.  Police used a K-9 unit to sweep the area, but the suspect was not found.

No ample suspect description was provided.

The victim did not require any medical attention, police said.
