The Greensboro Stars won the USA Hockey Tier II 16-and-under national championship earlier this month by beating a team from Nashville.

The Youth Tier II U16AA 1-A National Championship Game was held in Troy, Mich. April 3-7. The Stars beat the Nasvhille Jr. Predators 5-1 to take the title.

Their offense was outstanding all season and helped propel the team to a championship.

"They did a fantastic job. They represented Greensboro...just fantastic. I can't say enough about how they sacrificed for each other. It all came together at a really good time," said Steve Sabo, the team's head coach.

Their 1-A championship banner will be displayed at the Greensboro Ice House.
