GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Housing sales hit a five-year high in Greensboro for the first three months of 2013 and builders said new home construction is finally on the rise also.

Most builders like Sam Morgan have struggled through a tough housing market for the past five years. But Morgan’s company just finished and sold a custom built house.

Builders at the Triad Spring Parade of Homes said new construction is finally coming back.

Darren Burke’s company is currently constructing four new houses in Forsyth County. He said buyers finally seem to be serious about building new homes.

“I think we have turned the corner and we are headed in the right direction,” he said.

Realtors said new construction always depends on existing home sales and those have increased.

Anyone wanting to see some of the new home construction in the area can visit the Triad Parade of Home next weekend.
