KERNESVILLE, N.C.–Kernersville Police apprehended a Winston-Salem man wanted on failure to appear charges after a brief chase this morning, according to Kernersville Police.

The incident occurred after Allen Dawkins, driving a 1998 Chevy minivan, failed to stop for a police officer on Business 40 westbound at the S. Main St. exit just after 11:30 a.m.

The officer, along with back-up Kernersville Police, used a rolling roadblock in an attempt to slow down the vehicle near the Main St. exit in Winston-Salem.

Dawkins rammed the pursuing officer’s vehicle, then came to stop, according to police.

The suspect is being held in Forsyth County Jail under a $20,000 bond.

No injuries were reported.
