Woman charged with arson in Greensboro apartment fire

GREENSBORO, N.C. — A woman was arrested Thursday in connection with an arson at a Greensboro apartment complex.

Greensboro police spokeswoman Susan Danielsen says Angel Shamese Sweeney, 24, was arrested for the March 14 fire that damaged a building at the Sedgefield Square Apartments at 4237 Bernau Ave.

Police say two people were inside an apartment when the suspect set it on fire.

No injuries were reported.

It was not clear exactly how much damage the blaze caused.

Sweeney is charged with first-degree arson.  She is being held in the Guilford County Jail under a $50,000 secured bond.
