GASTONIA, N.C. —  A hospital in Gastonia that recently changed its name has also adopted a new slogan: “Cheat Death.”

WSOC is reporting Gaston Memorial Hospital in Gastonia has become CaroMont Regional Medical Center and plans to work with restaurants to create “Cheat Death” menus.

The hospital will also work with gyms to create workouts that also go along with the “Cheat Death” slogan.

CaroMont CEO Randall Kelley said the hospital hopes to create community health movement.

County commissioner and hospital board member Jason Williams says the new slogan is a bad idea, saying the hospital needs a positive slogan. He claims some hospital workers think the slogan cheapens their work. He added some pastors consider the slogan blasphemous.
