Several people have reported snow and sleet mixing with rain across the Piedmont.

Colder air above the surface will cause some precipitation to freeze as it spreads across the area.

Temperatures at the surface and ground temperatures are well above freezing, meaning any sleet and snow that falls will immediately melt. No accumulation is expected.

Temperatures are in the 40s across the area.

Scattered showers will continue throughout the day.

From the National Weather Service:

...LIGHT RAIN SPREADING ACROSS THE AREA THIS MORNING MAY BE MIXED
WITH A LITTLE SLEET THROUGH NOON TODAY...

COLDER AIR ABOVE THE SURFACE WILL FREEZE SOME OF THE INITIAL RAIN
AS IT SPREADS ACROSS THE AREA THIS MORNING. TEMPERATURES AT THE
SURFACE AND THE GROUND TEMPERATURES ARE ABOVE FREEZING...AND ANY
SMALL SLEET THAT FALLS WILL MELT VERY QUICKLY...CAUSING NO TRAFFIC
CONCERNS. THE PRECIPITATION WILL BE ONLY RAIN BY MID AFTERNOON.
