Belk to open new store by Palladium, expand store at Friendly Center

HIGH POINT, N.C. — Belk announced on Wednesday, that it will relocate its High Point store from Oak Hollow Mall to the Palladium shopping center. The company will also expand and fully remodel its store at Friendly Center.

The Charlotte-based company will begin building the 75,000-square-foot store at the Palladium in High Point in July.  The $7.1 million project is expected to open by the spring of 2014.

The existing Friendly Center store in Greensboro will undergo a $9.2 million rennovation featuring an expansion of the women’s apparel, shoes, accessories and cosmetics departments. The store’s home department will be moved to a new building across from the main store on Green Valley Ave. The grand opening is expected in the fall of 2014. The improvements will make the store on Friendly Ave. one of its 15 flagship stores.
